You mean the process of installing the kit? Well it depends on where you want to mount the ballast. You can mount it near the fuse box with double sided tape so that you don't have to remove the bumper.

He's talking about the squirrel spotters, not the ballasts.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
Yeah, did you cover them? And if yes, then what does this process entail? I hope not the removal of the whole bumper...cuz that can take forever.
I use Hybridamp's website as an example for me. And Yes, I did take the whole damn bumper off ^.^
It took me 3 hours to take off the bumper (first time/noob), install bulb (30 mins), put it back together around 1 hour. Make sure you print out that Manual, pictures. It helps alot.
I did not cover the squirell spot. I just didn't have enough information to do it and had limited time since I borrowed my friend's underground parking space.
That was some bs reason.. the truth is .. I just couldn't wait to see HID on my gen6

^Well, for the sake of other drivers on the road, I hope that you have the decency to go back and cover the squirrel spotters, because as of right now, you ARE blinding others.

I did a search on this "Hybridamp" individual, but his site seems to be about older audio components for the home...Can you please post the links to the removal of the bumper, and any other resource which you used? Once I get my Camry back from the body shop, I am planning to do a HID conversion, so I'd like to be ready.
COVER UP THE SQUIRREL SPOTTERS!!! I don't know why you didn't do that to begin with if you already took off the bumper. Word is that you just have to poke in there and bend some metal flap.

At least its in a projector instead of reflector housing...so it wont be as bad..but still nothing compare to the real thing!
you really should cover those squirrel spotters asap. removing the bumper is going to be a pain as time goes on as those 2 pins in the fender are uber difficult to remove if there's grime in it.
best way to cover the spotters up would be to bend the flap up so you can see the actual holes, cover the holes up w/ jbweld and then bend the flap down so it's flush. if you just bend the shield so it's flush, there will always be a little bit of light leaking out which makes your cutoff look poopie.
The best way to go is to retrofit an OEM HID kit since it uses OEM parts and will last a long time. Also, using true HID projectors will produce the better output, less glare, and clarity than halogen projectors which you have now.
If you would like an alternative, I would recommend only going with Xenondepot's HID kit since they use high quality parts such as Philips D2S burners and Philips bulbs. The Stanley's halogen projectors found in the 6th generation Camry actually take well to aftermarket HID kits, so it won't be that huge of a problem unlike with other vehicles having aftermarket HID kits. Also, be sure to cover up the Squirrel Spotters.
The Squirrel Spotters are a big problem with the '07 Camrys and HID kits. The Squirrels Spotters are not DOT mandated. They are there to see road signs and stuff like that. They are covered up because they are OK with Halogen, but with HID the glare is unbearable to oncoming traffic. These can be covered up with aluminized duct tape that are meant to withstand high temperature.

Where you see the aluminum tape on the cutoff shield is where the Squirrel spotter tab used to be, I took it off of this set of Camry projectors and covered the holes with the tape. You can only tape these by taking the headlight completely apart, but bending the tab down while still installed is very easy.
