Now why would I want to make it easier for people and police to see my plate?

Interesting...but I thought the general objective with any mod around the license plate is to make it LESS visible to red-light cameras and toll-booths?

Well, hate to break it to you guys but there is no method of hiding your license plate from red-light and tollbooth cameras minus removing the plate altogether.

I assume that Moky made this mod to try to duplicate the Lexus license plate lights, is that correct? We discussed this in another thread. I have tried multiple sets of white LEDs but they all come out with a hint of blue.

Moky - do you see any hint of blue with these PIAA lights?

yep, true. i really like the way the lexus had those white leds for the license plate lights.
there's only a subtle hint of blue when its on the road. the reason why it seems really bright is because that shot was taken in the garage which was really dark (plus the the fact that i used a cellphone to take the pcicture).

so far this was the whitest that i've seen. other bulbs like eurolite are just too blue and it isnt appealing to me much.

It's white enough...you gotta remember that white is about the only color which manufacturer's cannot make due to limitations of the technology of LEDs.

Probably correct...
On the other hand I just bought a new Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS. You can add Custom POI's in it that will warn you when you are coming up on Red-Light Cameras. Kinda cool actually....

Moky, which PIAAs are those? I've seen several types of PIAA 194 leds on ebay and other places, just curious as to which these are?
