tire size options

I have a 2002 Camry LE. The recommended tire size is 205-65R15. Is it possible run a slightly taller and wider tire or will it rub in the wheel wells? Anyone try and different sizes? What works and what doesn't?

Have you tried one of these???
http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html

If you go taller than factory, you'll throw off your speedometer and it'll have to be recalibrated.

Thank you. Yes, I did indeed look at the tire calc site, pretty neat stuff but it doesn't tell you what sizes fit in the wheel well of the Camry. As far as throwing off the speedometer, my speedo is over by about 2.5-3 MPH at 70MPH right now with factory recommended tire size 205/65/15. I.E. speedo reads 70, radar reads 67 so going with a little taller tire would actually make my speedo more accurate. Anyone try any larger tires and have some suggestions on what fits in the wheel wells and what doesn't?

why would you want to go taller? the cams are already discusstlingly high, i would go lower (less rubber) and lower the car.

Actually I'm hoping to go taller and wider. Taller is for ground clearance, I don't always have the luxury of driving paved roads and an extra 1/2" wouldn't hurt my ability to get around. So, has anyone tried any larger tire sizes? What fits into the wheel wells and what doesn't?

if you want to go taller, you have to go narrower. taller + wider = ah ah!

I am running 235/50-18. So I am wider than 205, and my outside diameter is 3% bigger than stock. (I did this for several reasons including making a correction to my speedometer which was off by 3mph). I am having no rubbing problems.

Flop Shot,
You are running 235/50/18 in a Gen 5 Camry with no problems? That is a much larger tire. I would not have guessed there was that much room available in the wheel well. Please confirm.
