The Quick Question:
On my way home the 'Low Fuel' light came on so I drove the one mile trip to the gas station a bit aggresively (had plenty of wheel spin). I filled up and drove back home continuing in my
spirited driving (plenty of WOT). Once in the garage, I got out and noticed this strange burning smell coming from the engine. The engine only has 3,500 miles on it so I know it's still in the break in period (with special break-in oil), and I realize I was pushing the engine. But just out of curiosity,
what exactly am I smelling?
(O and it doesn't smell like burning rubber...unless burning rubber has a funky after smell)
Some Info on Gas:
As I mentioned above the 'Low Fuel' light came on and I went to go fill-up. So here's a fun fact that some of you may not have known:
(Keep in mind the 'Low Fuel' light JUST came on and I was driving aggressively so I lost a little more fuel then what is tollerable for the 'Low Fuel' light to come on)
Took 14.730 Gallons (US) to get to here:
So What?
Soooo 18.5(Size of Gas Tank) - 15(Lets go ahead and say I used .27 Gallons after the light came on) = 3.5 Gallons
I know this isn't very accurate but atleast now you know ABOUT/APPROXIMATELY how much gas you got left when that light comes on. Do a bit more math using your average MPG and you'll know about how many miles you got left. (Use 3 Gallons in your calculations just to stay on the safe side)
