Canada Open all doors with 1 press

I have a Canadian 2007 Camry SE C Pkg. It has a 4 button key fob - lock/unlock/trunk/panic. I would like to be able to open all doors with one press of the unlock button of the key fob. Right now it takes two presses. Of course the manual says to visit your Toyota dealer to get this done. That's does nothing for my DIY ego. Anyone have instructions?

thanks,
Brad

Just go out and buy a Toyota intelligent tester, the software, subscribe to all future software changes and you can play all day!!!!!!!!

Wait, you probably can't own something like that in Canada...............

I posted about this very thing a while back. The only way that I found that it can be done is through the dealership. Someone said their dealership did it for free. Mine wanted to charge something like 71.00 for it. Didn't seem worth it to me if I had to pay that much so I didn't bother getting it done.

Hmm - maybe I'll see if the dealer will give up the procedure. Any other car I've owned, this was explained right in the manual.

The dealer should be able to program the unlock feature for all the doors. I'm unsure of how much it'll cost though (if it does cost anything).

I had the mechanic hook up the cable to the ECU and change the light to turn off instantly as I open the door instead of still on for 30 seconds. It was free.

As stated earlier....

You have to have the Toyota Intelligent tester and current software from Toyota to do it.

Its a "while you wait procedure" at the dealer and shouldn't cost you anything. If the dealer wants to charge you, call the Toyota number and get them to lean on the dealer.

Of course as njerald said if you have a couple of thousand of Canadian dollars laying around you can buy the intelligent tester and software and do it your self.

Nice, do you by any chance know what else can be programmed? My car allows the user to enter the computer mode and set everything.

I think you can also have:
- The interior light dimmed out faster (default is 30 seconds I think)
- All doors lock as you move the Shift Knob from Park to Reverse or Drive (Default is lock instantly) you can change this to 5 mph or so...
- Silent Lock your doors (Default is 1 beep for Lock and 2 beeps for Unlock)
- Automatic Headlight turn off (Default is 30 seconds) I changed this to instantly as I open any door
I am sure there are more....so please help me out here guys and gals.

The unlock operation has 2 modes. To change the mode, within 3 ft. of the vehicle press the lock switch and the alarm, trunk opener or unlock switch simultaneously for 5 seconds.

In order to change unlock modes, the ignition switch must be turned off.

Repeating this procedure allows you to toggle between the 2 modes.

1. Driver's door only (default)-In this mode, only the driver's door unlocks when the driver's door handle is grasped. All the doors unlock when any door handle is grasped. When the setting is is complete, you will hear two beeps.

2. All doors-In this mode, all doors (except the trunk) unlocks when any of the door handles is grasped. When the setting is complete, you will hear two beeps.

After the mode change operation is complete, wait 5 seconds before repeating the operation.

The above is taken from 2007 Avalon owner's manual on page 36. Good luck.

I have to say that I have not yet tried it as I got the '07 a few days ago and I just happened to come across it in my manual.
