Took delivery of my V6 Camry Vin#4T1BK46K37U035066 and according to TSB TC002-07 I might have a problem free 6-speed tranny. Until I get use to going back to front wheel drive vehicles I cautiously drove the Camry home. Big difference coming off a Ford Crown Victoria and stepping down to what's classified a mid sized commute car. I am concerned the front nose area and bumper will take a huge beating when I park on the streets of New York City, visit the malls out in Long Island, but more importantly sustain road rash from all the junk kicked up driving on the Long Island Expressway. Thanks to this fantastic web site I pre-read the downloaded 2007 Toyota service manuals and it was here I realized any thoughts of foregoing the extended warranty would be impossible. Simple tasks like replacing tires down the road will be a nightmare especially with the internal pressure sensors on each tire. The typical service tech replacing tires will most likely damage at least one and that's if I don't sustain damage scrubbing the tires or rims caused by any of the parking lot attendants. Anyway, I got the 7yr/100k/$0.00 deductable
genuine Toyota extended warranty from Troy Deidrich at Toyota of Greenfield, Massachusetts. Paid $880 versus the thousand here in Long Island City, NY. Can anyone tell me where they located their EZ-pass on the front windshield? I installed mine directly under thefront windshield rear view mirror which is invisible from the driver side. The front passenger side however no longer has a clear unobstructed view...will the dots and tint interfere if I relocate the EZ-pass to above the rear view? Finally does anyone know of the part numbers of both a good Autometer pod and McGard wheel lock set? I'd like to install a transmission temperature gauge but need a good Autometer pod. Dealer is asking $60 for the McGard wheel locks for the alloy wheels...refuse to pay his prices so I called Jeg's but it appears they do NOT have any 2007 documention from McGard as yet. Finally just to let everyone know you can get genuine Toyota oil filters for the V6 2007 model year Camry for $3.70/filter at toyotapartspeople.com I placed an order for a dozen which should be here in a week or so. As you can probably tell I normally perform my own maintenance but had to purchase the extended warranty simply because of the prices of some of the electronic parts (tire pressure sensors, coil on plugs similar to what ford uses, etc). Keep all the tips and tricks coming folks.....
