1st Round of TSB's

I finally had time to get the car in for the first round of TSB's. I figured not to do too much at once as building a relationship with my service advisor is in my best interest going forward.

Michaels Toyota (Bellevue) has been great so far. My advisor is Jennifer and she was great and easy to deal with.

Issues:

Buzz sound in the steering column

- the road near the dealership is pretty smooth so the tech couldn't repro. the sound, but they did grease the steering wheel column and look at things to see if that would help. So I'll see if that helps, if not, I'll find the exact stretch of road near them that repro's the sound so they can fix.

Dashboard Rattles and Creeks:
Since it was sub 50 degrees out.... then these noises was easily found.
- Ordered a fan grille and felt kit for installation

Inside part of the Drivers Door Handle and Leather scallopped area poor fit:
- Ordered new drivers door panel

Squeak from Front Brakes when reversing out of a parking spot:
- Ordered parts for that particular TSB

Wrinkled Rear Seat Cover Appearance:
- Ordered new Rear Sear cover

Right Passengers Door Rear Scuff Guard is lifting (clear protector):
- Ordered new Rear Scuff Guard

I got a 06 4 banger XLE Carmy as a loaner. Not bad... but hard to compare against mine, if it was a 6....

Couple TSB's and issues I've left for later are:

Drivers seat moan and squeek (TSB) - can't repro. right now as the temp is colder and I bet things (plastic etc.) have contracted so it doesn't happen. I know it was worse when it was warm and the summer time. You could move around in the seat and hear the noise.

Center Console Door InOp (TSB) - I looked at the TSB and not sure I want them to pull apart so many things just to fix this. I usually leave the door open and it's not a big deal to me so far.

IMHO the front end is prone to stone chips - I just want them to document this, as if enough owners are having this problem, then in the future they may do something. I know there's been others complaining about this too. IHO the flex agent mix is off and or they hardened the paint (overbaked) a little bit too much. I'm sure they where rushing the car off the line to keep up to the demand.

Other than the above minor issues.... Which I expected from a 1st year car and early in the production run (May 06 build), the car has been great 13,500 miles later.

Hopefullly I keep myself from test driving the Pontiac G8 when it lands and I'll have the Camry for quite some time to come.

I'm leaning towards that route.... Since seeing the above post way back and your pics. (thanks btw), I've pretty much left my center console door in the open position.

It's hasn't been a really big deal to me. I can probably count on one hand how many times I've closed that door in the past year.

It will probably be in round 2... after all the round 1 fixes are complete.

I'm sure most of y'all know.... that TSB's are only covered under 3/36, so even if you have your extended warranty (like me), it's best to get them all squared away before the 3/36 is up.
