Gen6 HELP - 2007 Camry SE Rear Spring Installatiion

I have been searching all over the net and have not found a single thing. How do you get to the top bolts on the rear struts in order to remove them from the car? Thanks for any and all help.

Pretty well detailed in the Suspension section of the Service/Repair Manual which it sounds like you don't have.

How would you ever know what to torque the nuts to???

Hint: you have to remove the rear seats!!!!!!!!

Remove seat. You will see the
to remove seat, the bottom just pulls up, the backrest has 4 bolts at the bottom then slide it up and viola!

Remove all 4 bolts from the bottom of the seat, they will be at the very outside corners and then at the gaps where the outside seats meet the center arm rest. After you remove them, lift UP from the bottom of the seat towards the roof of the car, the seat has prongs that slide into a fitting. Lift up and then out and you'll then see the 3 bolts at the top of the shock tower.

LoL... and as far as torque for those shock tower nuts.... its not all that important to reach a specific torque setting. Just tighten them down, but dont over tighten because you can snap them.

ROFL, isn't that sort of the reason for torque specifications....proper amount of tight without overtightening to the point of weakening the fastener.

But its not necessary to break out the torque wrench on those nuts, is what im saying. You can tighten them down using common sense and not going over board. Its not like you're putting a block together or a head. Thats all im saying.
