I finally got the new HID 8000K just the way I wanted it. Have the relayed installed and also have the Squirrel Spotter on. Love the blue at night...it seems like 5 times brighter than my halogen bulbs. Thanks to BigdaddyMike installed for me. I have the local shop installed the relay and mod the squirrel spotter.

Looks pretty nice. We just got our Camry last Tuesday and I want to look into getting HIDs for it. My concerns... How's the glare? What kit did you get (plug-n-play vs. retrofit)? How much better than stock halogens?

It's at least 5 times better than my halogens. I see so much better at night. Not much glare to me. I let my wife drive this car behind me just to see how much it bother others but with the squirrel spotters on...it doesn't bother me at all being the car infront of her.
I got the plug-n-play. However, after my plug and play kit I went to a local stereo shop and have them installed the relay (A relay is to draw the power directly from the battery instead of from your factory wire) because with HID when it first turn on, it requires a lot of energy so it is best to get the energy directly from the battery.
You will love the HID at night, all the street names just glow and you can see everything so bright.

8000K? Well my friend you're missing out on a lot of light compared to a 4300K kit. Furthermore, on long night trips, you eyes will become fatigued faster because everything has a blue hue to it. Furthermore, you mentioned that you had a relay installed later...did you go with one of those Chinese eBay kits?

Well he said kit....and 8000k! lol. This is defnitely not the route towards retro. Glare is always there in kits....no matter how much you try to cover it up...there will still be some. It will be pretty noticable, but he can kind of get away since its in a halogen projector.
I have an 07 Camry with a 4300K XenonDepot HID setup and I always feel like I am glaring people just for the simple fact that our headlights do not have an auto-leveling mechanism.
Don't worry I covered my squirrel spotters.
I am actually considering adjusting my headlights down slightly to lower my cutoff point so that I can avoid the amount of glare from the halogen projectors. HIDs give out enough light that I will still be able to see far ahead even with a slightly lower cutoff point. It is as simple as the turn of a screw.

I drove behind cop's cars twice on different night. Neither one of them pull me over. To be honest, I was really affraid since I have 8000K. If you worry as much as I do, why don't you drive in front of your car for 15 minutes to see how bad it is for others. It wasn't that bad for me. It is definately brighter light behind you but NOT blinding me!!!

I know that 8000k is not as bright as 4300K but I am willing to stay with 8000k because of the blue. To me, 8000k is so bright already compare to stock halogen.
Hey...maybe those of you that has 4300k are the one that really blind other people because it is the brightest of all light. (just kidding)
I am so happy with my 8000k for the brightness and blue hue color!

I regards to the statement made about auto-leveling, our '06 Acura TL has factory HID's and they are not auto-leveling. I have never had any problems driving in front of ours, or others on the street at night. Since the projector's on the '07+ Camry's provide a good enough cutoff line, I wouldn't be too worried about glaring other people on the road.

Thank you for reassuring me!
