Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So every dealer I've talked to has said that it'd be a special order to get a se V6 without the sports leather.
I just wanted to verify that. I don't know if leather is a deal breaker. I know I'd rather not have it, but given a choice of waiting 8-12 weeks or driving off in a car with leather, I'd be driving off the lot.
Has anyone else run into similar? Are there aftermarket seat covers that anyone would recommend?
I did a search on Ebay and saw one or two auctions for leather\suade seat covers for the 07 Camry's.
Hmmm interesting. Over here in Canada, the Camry SE (the V6 one, too) comes without leather. Only if you get the "B Package", you get the leather and absolutely all of the other gizmos, minus Nav.
Why do you not want the leather? You seem to be considering seat covers of some sort anyway, so why not just go with the cow?
Sure the stitching on the Camry seats isn't Audi-neat, but I've always tried to get leather whenever I had a chance.

I've just never been a fan of leather. Probably due to bad past experiences as a child and burning my legs on my parents car seats
Like I said, Im not all together that concerned with it. The seat covers I'd consider would prevent my legs from feeling the extremes (both heat, and cold) until the AC kicks in or the seats get heated up.
you know... i never did understand why some people put towles and shirts all over their nice leather seats. It makes it look really... hrmmm... how should I say it??? UGLY???
My friends paretns has a GS400 and a TL... both covered with plastic and towels... I just don't get it. If you're not going to take advantage of it... why spend the money for it???
When I got my car... I had no choice but to order it... so i ordered it without leather...
dctalking... ppl cover their seats to protect themselves from the heat of the seats after sitting in the sun too long... I kno I had to cover my seats of my altima during the summer cuz my gf wears tank tops and skirts... and she hated the leather... no problems now
Also... refer to my thread for the CP car show and see if you can go
I'm sorry but that covering of the leather because of the sun argument is extremely weak.
1) When you get the leather, you get the front heated seats, so there's no danger of sitting on a cold seat in the winter. Even if it were cold, I don't see what the problem is - it will warm up within 10 minutes.
2) Sitting on a hot seat in the summer is no big deal either. The point here is to add some luxury to the car through leather. And furthermore, should you spill some liquids, you're not left with a stain as with cloth seats. And you don't need to use 10 different cleaners to "treat it" either.

Its personal preference, nothing more, nothing less. Its what Im accustomed to. My experiences with leather seats have been rather, uncomfortable, in the short time I've been in them. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, no matter how weak you may think they are.
That said, I've not come across any in the MidWest that dont have leather, so I'll buy one off the lot when I make my purchase. It's good to see they are out there (Thanks for the link to Fitz, again!) but my only hope is finding a special order around here that someone bailed on.
Here in Tampa, FL (The Sunshine State) SET is currently showing 183 2007 V6 Camry SE's....135 of those have cloth seats and only 48 leather. I personally agree with lakeith and I guess the rest of the FL market does too or they wouldn't have so many cloths available...
I've never had a problem being too hot or too cold with leather seats in any of my cars... Tints really help a lot!!! Well... if you don't like it... Don't pay for it!! Order it! see how fast they can really get it to you. What's the rush??? 8-12 weeks... well, I guess the question is are you willing to pay that much more just to get the car now or are you willing to save the $$$ and wait it out. At least when you wait it out you know that you'll get the camry with about 1 mile on it, you don't have to worry about how others may have test driven your car b/c it would never be test driven, and most of the kinks and bugs that toyota has been having with the camry's would be next to none... so I assume.
