Gen6 My O7 LE Steering Wheel Seems Off Center

I took delivery of a 2007 Camry LE early last evening. Today I notice that when I am driving straight down the road, that the steering wheel seems off center (to the right) by about 10-15 degrees. In other words, if you dissected the Toyota logo on the wheel, it would be angled to the right. What's up with this? I hope it's servicable!

is your car drifting to the same direction, or is it driving straight? might just need an alignment... either way, i would say bring it back to the dealer.. after all, u just bought it so it should be perfect

It's driving straight, it's just that the steering wheel is "cockeyed", or off center.

I just had mine in due to a drift/pull to the left and shimmy. End result was a 4 way alignment and 4 new rotors. Take it in and get it checked.

I'm guessing its an alignment problem. But would that be possible for an alignment to be off for a new car...? Hm.....

It was in my case. Whether it left KY like that or happened after that is unknown.

Normally, when the steering wheel isn't straight, it's because the car isn't tracking straight either and an alignment would cure that. They should re-center the steering wheel if necessary as well.

Alignment is covered under factory warranty as long as you haven't hit anything.

Take it to the dealer. Toyota pays very well to have the alignment performed.

As the others have said, it needs an alignment. One of the first steps in an alignment is to center the steering wheel. Then, all other specifications for the alignment are taken from that point. Take it back to the dealership.

Yes, it should be fine.

Actually, centering the steering wheel isn't one of the first things that is done.

They will first align the rear of the vehicle. Then they will align the front using the rear as a reference. When they align the front they will center the steering wheel at that time.

If you haven't balanced your tires yet, tell them you have a vibration at highway speeds. Then say that for that reason you want the tires rotated and balanced.

For the alignment and the rotate and balance warranty pays better than customer pay. If they have half a brain they will be more than happy to complete the services you request.

If you have any problems, just post here. I'll do my best to help you out.
