Gen6 iPod Integration

I'm looking to install a direct iPod intergration unit with the JBL 6-Disc changer stereo. Has anyone else done this? I'd really like to get one that is hard-wired directly into the head unit - no fm transmitters. Does anyone here use the USASpec PA-12-TOY ? http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1022

Also, how hard/easy is it to access the back of the headunit? Can wires be routed under the center console to the storage compartment easily?

The USASpec won't work on a 2007. The only two I know of are Vais Tech and Coastal Tech.

As stated, use the search function...you will find the information you seek

I got one off of ebay. It scrolls the title of the song across the screen and you can use your steering wheel controls. It also charges the ipod. It is like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-TOYOTA-CAMR...QQcmdZViewItem

It works great, the only complaint that I have is that if you leave the ipod playing and turn the car off you will have to switch the input or turn the radio off and back on when you restart the car. I just got in the habit of turning the radio off before I turn the car off and that works too. This also plugs into the satellite radio connection in the back of the radio, so if you want satellite radio you can't use this.

I am happy to report that the USASpec PA-12-TOY works just fine with my 2007 Camry SE. I purchased mine from the Canadian Distributor and followed the directions I found on Ebay from someone else who was selling these units there. I do not have the 6 CD Changer unit but from everything that I have read it will still work with this as well.

I installed it myself with some hesitation but all in all it was fairly straight forward and it works great!

Great news! I recently spoke with someone from USA-Spec regarding this issue and they confirmed that the PA-12-TOY does work with the 07 Camry, despite what places like Crutchfield or DiscountCarAudio.com might say.

I looked at the USA Spec unit and decided that I didn't like the two modes of playback. In one, I had control of my ipod but didn't get the TEXT on the display, but the other mode got the TEXT and lost the ipod interface. I want both. I think I might have found that in a product from dice electronics.

http://www.diceelectronics.com/

I found an ebay auction selling one for about $10 more than the USA Spec unit. It also plugs into the AUX cd changer port in the back of the factory stereo.

Do you have any pics of it working? Like the LCD display on the head unit? Also, does it work with the steering wheel audio controls?

Yes, the steering wheel controls do work with it. I don't have any pics of it, but I can try to take some. It just scrolls the title and artist across the display continuously.

I have the Dice ipod adapter for my Camry. Works great with steering wheel controls, and charges my iPod as well. $139 + $5 shipping on Amazon.com.

ipod integration

I have the DICE unit installed. it allows my sat to still work through the stereo .The unit displays your song on the stereo display and allows control through the steering wheel . It charges the IPOD as well. I had it professionally installed and it works great.

You don't have to take pics. I just wanted confirmation of it working, so thanks!

iPod integration is simple and there are several devices that will do it, but there is still a lack of capability of having iPod and SAT radio integrated into the factory NAV system which is what I need.
