Gen6 Possible to MOD the SE Steering wheel?

I just picked up the i4 SE and its the base package - Is it possible to add the additonal buttons to the steering wheel like i've seen on the loaded SE packages? TBO im not really sure what other buttons but mine only has the volume / scan button - I believe the additonal ones include bluetooth, phone, etc -

Also - Is it possible to add one of those 'cool' rear view mirrors that show the compass, homelink? etc...

I also want to impliment a new NAV system (maybe the pionneer) touch screen with a camera rigged to the back of the car -

I think i've seen posts about the NAV, camera and mirrors but im not sure if they can all be integrated together -

Haven't found anything about the steering wheel mod though

WHY mod the steering wheel?? if you have no Bluetooth, what is the point. I picked up a homelink rearview mirror with compass, easy to install, do the search and you will find a link to it.

Toyota sells the auto-dimming mirror with compass for around $200 including installation. You can also buy an aftermarket Gentex mirror. Those are offered with many features like compass, outside temperature, garage door opener, reading lights, etc.

Those run between $100 and $400. Installation is very easy. I have one of these aftermarket mirrors on my old Echo.

But if you want to go OEM, you won't be ripped off - Toyota charges the same rate for their mirror as compared to the Gentex ones. Furthermore, if I'm not mistaken, Gentex actually makes the Toyota ones because they are an OEM supplier for the likes of GM.

Honestly - Im not sure what the SE executive package or XLE super package has for other options on the steering wheel besides the phone button option...whats that tied into anyways, the radio?

I'll do the mirror assemby.

Yeah, to the radio. The numbers dialed, received and all status messages are displayed on the radio when you have a BT-capable vehicle.

picasso, the buttons link to the audi system so w/o the system it is useless, go with a homelink gentex, Toyota OEM is gentex so it is perfect, I installed one, they are like $200 at ebay with all that u need, easy to install, if you have no moonroof, you will need to run a switched power from the center console but no biggy....
