Paint Swirls???

I was showing my 2007 camry to a friend just the other day and we noticed what looked to be paint swirl marks in the hood. The rest of the car looked fine. The car is about one month old and has never been hand washed. What do you guys make of this?

Can you post some pics?

Are the swirls in the paint or on top of it?

Any car is gonna get paint swirls, even if you waste money on those 5-step wax/polish systems.

Just give your hood a fresh coat of wax.

What you probably have is a DISO (Dealer Installed Swirl Option) I say get a pc and some ScratchX or Swirl Remover 2.0 and get to work. Wax won't get rid of swirls, all it does is provide protection. In order to remove swirls, you'll need to remove some paint.

my car has 2 "swirl spots".

one on each C-pillar, near where it meets the quarterpanel (yes I am aware this is all one piece of sheetmetal)

They're identically positioned, which leads me to believe they're caused by something during the shipping or manufacturing process... you can see them pretty vividly under artificial lighting at night, sucks.

you need to remove some clearcoat w/ the polish, not paint. removing paint would be very bad. and don't waste your money w/ scratchx, go buy some real polish.

Eagle1 Nanowax works wonders for swirl marks, and at 12.00 a bottle, not much investment, give it a try!
