The "2007" Camry is over a year old already. They were first available in early 2006. So all the major bugs have already been worked out and the 2008 model will be no different.
To me when a car is available in 2006 it's a 2006 model and not a 2007 but that's a whole different argument
it's a reasonable statement. But other than the bugs...I dont' think they're gonna do any changes -- it'll be just a clone since it's too soon to introduce a 6.5 generation.
Unless you are terribly rich, if you can wait a year, why not stock the money away for a large down payment. Save up monthly as if you were paying for the car already--put it all into a savings/ something money market.
Or get it now.

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.

I agree ... not to mention ... guess what .... in 2008, when the 2009 comes out there will always be bugs. Nothing is perfect, especially a car with all the electronics and mechanical parts. Just buy the car now or ride the bus.
I believe his question was more about bying a close-out 07 for cheaper. My experience is that Toyota dealers don't tend to have much trouble selling Camry's so they don't usually ahve a lot of them lingering when the new year model rolls in.

The only reason to get an 08, is to say you have an "08". The car will be the same until Gen 6.5
Though they did make minor tweeks on the LEXUS IS350 from last year, I believe they changed how the TRAC BUTTON looks, as well as a new design GAS TANK and TRUNK RELEASE BUTTONS

I MUST take exception to this statement and again I must beat the dead horse... BUT all of the BUGS HAVE NOT been worked out of the 2007 Camry AND IT HAS BEEN IN PRODUCTION MORE THAN A YEAR.
The Major FLAW is with the V6 Models and the transaxle... As late as the 03/2007 builds are STILL EXPERIENCING Transmission Slipping.
I doubt it will be right in 2008, if it is, I bet the 6-speed auto is non-existent!
IMO - this is highly UNACCEPTABLE unless of course you're buying a cheap Hyundai or Kia.
