5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I went to Symes Toyota in Pasadena, CA last night after the internet salesman told me he could get me one with the options I wanted and he could sell me the car at 300 under invoice. Of course after filling out the paperwork and getting my car appraised they suddenly couldnt locate any in all of SoCal but would "Do whatever it takes to make me colorblind"......gotta love that overused car salesmen line.
They then proceed to tell me that they would only sell me a car at 300 under invoice if I purchased a vehicle that was in stock, clearly not what their "internet" salesman had told me in his email, which I brought to their attention. Of course the salesman whom i had been in contact through email all of a sudden had an appointment with another client and handed me off to one of his managers, which i'm pretty sure was BS due to the fact they couldnt locate the color i wanted and didnt want me confronting him about it.
The entire time they kept trying to convince me to buy a Titanium Metallic SE they had in stock and they kept lowering my monthly payment. I did entertain the idea for a bit, but eventually decided that I really wanted the Magnetic Grey to which there response was "Nobody will be able to get you that car in that color"
Is that car really that rare, or am i just getting the typical salesman BS and run around? I've had another dealership quote me the same price and tell me that they can get me the car, but I dont want to have to deal with their crap again.

i see te magnetic gry se on the road the most.. .more than any other color or model so i bet it may be hard to find w/ out a secial order.. when purchaseing my camry i knew i wanted to go i4 super wht xle gry interior and no dealer in sandiego had one so what i did was went to toyo website did dealer locate and just went dwn te list calling every one till i found one in glendale california a 2.5 hou drive from home .. but sure enough when i got there they had it ... so my suggestion is dont let the dealer tell you whats avail and get on the horn and call around im sure youll find it ! btw it only took about 5 cals and bam ! i found what i wanted .. and this was in june of 06 so im sure now there are many more avial wich should make you search a cake walk !!! good luck
I don't think it has anything to do with being rare as much as itr has to do with most popular combination. I was after a Mag Grey LE with 18" TRD wheels and spoiler and there was a 8-10 week wait on that, then they brought up the SE model and the wait was just as long, probably has more to do with the V6 than anything else, when I ended up getting the XLE and broughtit back to have the spoiler installed, there were like 6 Mag Grey Camrys, but no SE's or v6's.
i have a mag se but IL 4....the toyota i was at...which is really small had about 80% mag camrys (LE, SE, XLE, Hybrid) and bout 2 silver ones...1 green LE in the show room and 1 blue LE and that is a bout it so im not sure how RARE a grey one is but it is a nice coloour
