5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i have a gen 5 SE and i am curious what are all the differences between the gen 5 and 5.5 SE models? the 5.5's appear to have different (and cooler) head and taillamps, but are there any differences beyond that? pic would be awesome!
yeah i saw a 5.5 SE today...i really like the smoked tails and 3 projector style headlamps, and im thinking of picking up a set for my gen 5.....i didnt like the painted solara wheels they sport as much as my gen 5 SE wheels tho...
VVT-i became available in mid 2004 models, so that's when the 1MZ got its 210hp rating. That's also when the 3MZ became available in the SE.
So the 3MZ was not exclusive only to the Gen5.5 - but the Gen5 had that engine only for a little bit before the refresh for the '05 model year. Interesting to note, there was a period of time when the Camry had more power than the Avalon because the Avalon used the 1MZ up until the current gen which came out in mid '05.
