Dash Rattle - Found it - Need Help to remove dash piece

Hi

I found a new rattle in my 1 week only 07 camry. It is the center dash section that houses the clock and the security idot lights and other.

I want to remove it, and it feels like it will pop off, (oblong dash pices) but i am afraid of breaking something.

Does some please have shop drawing of where the clips are and how to remove it.

I would grealy apreicate it.

BOY IT IS ASHAME THIS CAR HAS SO MANY RATTLES. BUT i WILL FIX THEM MYSELF.

THANKS

Rattles and creaking are a perfectly normal thing to happen to a car regardless of age. You're wasting your time. You'll cover this one, and another one will come up.

You can always take it in to the dealer, and make them fix it.

It just pulls out but there are still wires connected so don't go nuts.

It's probably not the source of the rattle though.

Find another dealer then.... There is TSB's out there for creeks and rattles. There's a fan grille unit that needs to be changed and windshield clips etc. Dropping the car off Monday to fix this TSB amongst other minor TSB's

If you want to do it yourself... find the TSB here by doing a search. That's if your problem is exactly what's defined in the TSB but you are going to need the parts so.... better just find a decent dealer to fix it.

If you read the forum.. the very first thread has a sticky for TSB's. It's not all of them but there is a rattle/tick one which involves clips.

In side the dash there is supposedly a fan grille that makes noise as well.... as per the tech and there is a felt kit that is out to quiet things down too.

Again.... how are you going to be able to do these things yourself without the parts?

Good Luck!

Did the padding actually take car of the rattle? If it did, what type of padding did you use?

Thanks.

I'm taking mine in Tuesday to get this darn rattle fixed. It's so annoying. The first time they had it there, they said the couldn't duplicate it. What a bunch of BS. Then the car got dented in their parking lot - which they will fix. Bummer.
