Gen6 Cold Start engline rev/rpm. Push Button Start

In the morning the engine rev's to about 1,700- 1,800 RPM on a cold start with the push button. After waiting a moment and shifting into gear, the RPMs fall to about 1,100, but taking the foot off the brake cause the car to act as if the acceloraqtor is applied.

The service guy at the dealership said that's the way the car is.

What say you?

it has nothing to do with the push button start... when u first start your engine and the engine is cold, the rpms are higher to get the car to get to normal operating temps quicker.. if u put it in gear while the rpms are so high, it is putting a load on the engine while trying to put it in gear= bad for transmission.. just wait a little longer until the rpms drop down to 800-1000rpm and then u can go..

Agreed. If you don't wait for the RPMs to drop during warm-up, then your "creep" speed will be faster since the car's idling at higher RPMs. That's normal and is the behaviour exhibited by any automatic, cold vehicle. That's regardless of ignition interface, tranny speed count or engine cylinder count.

As the people above said, thats perfectly normal. And the reason it feels like the accelerator is being pushed down, is because the engine is at a much higher RPM.
