Just as the Title says, I will be moving and have too much stuff to fit in the car but not even enough to fill a 12 passenger van, so im looking into towing my crap with me.
I have scanned the web, and called some dealers, but I don't think that there was ever a hitch for Gen 5 camry's.
Does anybody know if there is one, even if its not in the U.S.A?
Perhaps just try to figue out the total load you'll be hauling, if it's alot, you may want to look into a trailer with electric brakes to avoid extra stress on the cars braking system.
Depending on job stability I may have to move home to Vancouver, British Colombia... Canada
3,500 Mile Drive, 4-5 Days on the road....I've been wanting to go for a long drive, So i look forward to it. But i am going to wait last minute before I add 200lbs onto my car.
Before you purchase a hitch suggest trying to estimate the weight and space of your cargo. Call the trailer rental place to get trailer sizes and weights, hitch ball size used and type of harness plug. The hitch does not weigh 200 lbs; this is the maximum recommended weight that should be put on the hitch (trailer hitch weight when loaded, not to be confused with trailer weight).
If an automatic might add a transmission oil cooler for cheap insurance against fluid overheating. I would also change engine and trans fluids, check condition of brakes and engine coolant system.
Also suggest doing a TN history search as other members have asked about towing trailers.
