Well, I think I've clearly stated my problem above. The DEALER put one thing on my invoice and then I decifered something completely different from my VIN. So who has the problem? My car didn't come with a sticker on the window. Is that my problem too? My question was why my dealer would think that I have a 5 speed A/T when in fact, I have a 6 speed A/T. If I have a five or six speed A/T, that makes a difference when I ask them to fix something on my car, right? Would I look like the idiot if I brought my car in for service telling them I have a problem on my 5 speed when I don't have a 5 speed? Would they take me seriously from then on? I think not. I believe it is best to be prepared and well informed before going in there and risking my own credibility.
If you've read the threads about this problem (as I have over the past few days), you would see that some people are experiencing resistence from their service departments. I would like to be totally prepared for all problems and then be happily surprised when I bring my car in for service tomorrow.
