Gen6 Paperwork arrival!..2 weeks to the day!

FYI Everyone!
Just to let those know that for those who have purchased their 7yr/100k/$0-deductable extended warranty from Troy Deitrich(Greenfield Toyota in Massachusetts). The Toyota paperwork arrived yesterday. The majority of the readers here already know Troy has the cheapest price for a Toyota GENUINE extended warranty...7yr/100k/$0-deductable warranty for $880 and he is "on top" of all the mickey mouse items such as insuring you get your confirmations, follow-ups, but more importantly the actual Toyota paperwork as part of the warranty. I also got a Toyota Survey yesterday from Toyota in Minnesota querying me about any concerns I might have related to my V6 Camry purchase. Limited space for fill-in's other than the usual "check in the box" for your perceptions. I did manage to voice my concerns over the 3rd to 4th gear "flare" that many have concerns about. While it is still way too early for me to encounter this problem I did mention I had no recourse but to purchase the extended warranty as a precaution just in case this issue rears it's ugly head.

I've finally put on a couple of hundred miles on the Camry and yes, there are some rattles in my new Camry. The front passenger side door area has an annoying squeek but I can live with it until something really ugly rears it's head in which case I will bring this to the Toyota service writer's attention. The stock single disc cd-player easily accepts and plays music downloaded and burnt to blanks. Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman sound fantastic! Right now I'm trying to chase down a cheap Radio Shack 3.5mm male to male cable to play mp3 off the Sansa my son has...stay tuned as I get this accomplished for a few dollars versus the outrageous $25 Belkin wants.

If your car only has 'a couple hundred miles' isn't it a little early to be buying the extended warranty? I thought you had up until the time that your standard warranty expires to buy the extended warranty. Wouldn't you normally want to wait and see if your vehicle is having any issues for the first couple of years before shelling out $880?

If you are struggling to find the 3.5mm male-to-male audio cable at a local retail store for a descent price (you should NOT pay more than $5.00) try ebay or amazon.com

Here is one I found on amazon for $2.10

BuckeyeSE-
Reason I decided to purchase the extended warranty prior to coming towards the end of the standard 3yr/36k Toyota warranty was because of the fact I need the insurance of having a free loaner vehicle during maintanance/warranty issues. It was made perfectly clear by the dealer that the 3yr/36l standard warranty did NOT include loaner vehicles even if the car was in for a protracted stay. Besides, there is just way too much new stuff on the 2007 model year which is beyond the capabilities of the normal tinkerer....throttle by wire, tpms management system, problematic 6-speed "flare" issue which i still ocurring not only on the Camry product line but also the Lexus ES350's. If Toyota cannot keep their Lexus owner's happy what makes you think the focus will be for the low end Camry's?

Ah, the free service loaner is a good point. I didn't mean to criticize if it came off that way. I've only had my Camry for a month now so I understand your position of not know what may pop up down the road... After all of the discussions on the tranny flare people have been experiencing I've been keeping my eye on the tach pretty closely.

Exactly! You couldn't have been more correct. The 6-speed automatic is a first for the Camry product family and from all the reading I've read this is transmission uses 20% less parts than the standard automatic, it's using overdrive in the top two gears making 4th gear almost a 1:1 ratio. The sad thing is it is a "sealed" tranmission without any means of checking fluid levels and short of it misbehaving where I would normally attempt to drop the pan to replace the filter and fluid, Toyota believes it will go a minimum of 100,000 miles between servicing. Presently my new Camry shifts flawlessly but like others I am especially cognizant transitioning to 40mph on the speedometer. I've had this 2007 Camry up to 75mph and am amazed it can travel so fast on only 2000rpm's on the tach. There was another member of this forum who mentioned he was in overdrive with the tach running 1500rpm but I've never been able to get my Camry to emulate his readings. I don't want to jinx myself but so far so good on my Kentucky built 03/2007 build date!

I would advise anyone who has a 2007 Camry with the V6 six-speed trans to get an extended warranty. We don't know if Toyota will ever get the transaxle problem resolved. Better to be safe than sorry!
