Gen5 03 camry ipod adapter / stock headunit?

I installed a Peripheral iPod Interface today in my 2003 Camry. Settings are per the instruction guide found on the Peripheral website.

When attached to my iPod Video 30gig the DISC display 1'00 and 2'00 flashes back and forth without stopping. Please see the pics below. Why is it flashing? Is there a way to stop the flashing? Link to similar issues?

The sound quality and the functionality are wonderful.

I have an 05 Camry with no input jack. So what I'm waiting for is a simple device that is yet to be invented. I want a Cassette Insert that offers me Blue Tooth. Just like those cheapies you use with a wire from the insert to the mp3 player, except this one would accept a wireless Blue Tooth signal, from say the mp3 player, my phone, or even some portable GPS devices. If you google this, there is a prototype of such devices, but none are manufactured yet. Someone should make one!

I have the same unit, You can't stop the disch shuffle 1 and 2, you will also find that sometimes when you turn on the car in the i-pod mode, It will not always turn on. For that you will need to press "Disc up"

NoW, Peripheral just came out with the 2nd generation ipod adaptors that now allow you to shuffle, change folders, read text, see the running time.

As for the bluetooth, there are many different adaptors, peripheral offers 1, Pac and raytell are other companies that offer integration. As for the cheap cassett, you will still have bad sound quality beause of the nature of tape. Its one of those things that sound great in theory but not practical.

Those cassette inserts don't use tape in any way. They are just an adapter/conductor to the sound system. To my knowledge, they just create an alternate form of input to the system, like the jack in the 07 Camry (mine is an 05 though, and doesnt have a jack)
