5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
What's the deal? Does TRD not love the Gen 5 Camry? How come other Toyotas get more goodies? No supercharger, no struts, no body kits, ..... I guess we get no love. I hope you Gen 6 guys have better luck.

TRD had love for other Camrys though........we weren't the first Camry to be a family sedan.

Besides having the basic goodies like strut bars, springs, rims and the accessories the other Toyota models don't really have much either (USDM wise, some models get the s/c). The prices for the parts are more and there are better parts for a cheaper cost.

TRD makes two superchargers for the scion tC. They both fit our car perfectly because its the exact same engine. It comes with software. After I get the work done on my car within the next few weeks, I'll be buying one after I save up again. They can range from 3,500-5,000 depending on what you get. Be creative people!!!!

if they work on our car then why are they not advertised and used by anyone else?
if it works that easily then i am definately in.
I actually sent an email to TRD a little while back asking if they had any plans to make a supercharger for the Camry. There reply was simply.....

Sorry
I then replied back asking if they would make a supercharger and told them that there was a huge interest in it. I told them that I would get a petition signed if I needed to. As you might expect, they did not reply to that email. But hell, I tried.

I don't know why the supercharger isn't advertised more for the Camry. But its very easy, especially since the tC and camry have the same engine. Trust me it works. A pro tuner shop close to my school said so. They guy that owns the place comes by with his carrerra S and he did some research after I told him. He said it's no problem. I just need the 4 G's for it then i'm straight
Why 4 G's? Can't you get the supercharger for around $3K or a little cheaper online?

^haha yea..a lot cheaper...i thought they were only like 2-3k. Also..tc gearing is different. I'm sure ecu might be different as well. THe super charger is probably not an exact fitment either...but nothing too major...HOnestly, there is no no love for the camry at all....i just feel that over time, the interest for modding the camry became less and less apparent. The turnouts are usually bad on group buys as well for performance parts..or for anything at that. Like the header set that jp makes...was taken off their website, and off main production, becuase although there was high demand for it, the header system was a flop, cuz most people in te camry community wont fork over the money.
