Gen6 beef with toyota canada

here it is, i got new rims... i want to lower the car as lil as posible, or not lower at all, but due to the look i have with the wheels i might have to go that route... any fellow canadian living in montreal can attest the to poor conditions of the roads here... so i have figured i'd go the "sorta" oem way... using TRD springs, and its not drastic nor will void any warrenty issues... i go to my dealer, talked to the tech in charge cause the parts department says it doesn't exhist for the gen 6 he says he'll get back to me... 3 days later he tells me that it does exist in the states but not in canada ???? wtf?? they are TRD parts?!?!? he 'says maybe canada is a lil more conservative... if i get it from the states even if i istall them here the warrenty is void... unless i go state side and buy and install at toyota dealer there i might still havea warrenty but with that state side dealer only...so any problems i would have to travel back and forth thru the country..... dammit i want TRD springs...!!! the tech told me he talked to cusumer service at toyota canada and if i tried they will say the same thing.... is that true?!!??!?!?! am i being fooled here??? any fellow canadians got TRD spring thru dealer for the GEN 6???

There are quite a few parts both TRD and non TRD that are available to people in the states. Unfortunately Canada is just not a big enough market to warrent the extra storage space needed for every part available. I don't know why TRD parts would void a Canadian warranty though. You may want to talk to someone at TCI (Toyota Canada Inc.) and ask them directly, as dealers don't always have perfect information.

Hi, I had the same problem a couple of months ago. Check out my old post (http://toyotanation.com/forum/showth...0#post1546200). It's really unfortunate that they don't have the parts here becuase it's the same company they should have 'em.

hey

toyota canada has said publicly that if any of their us cars are brought into canada that they would stand behind the warranty. So I cant see how that does not apply to TRD parts.

Give Whitby Toyota a call (about 4 hours from Montreal, in Ontario) at 905.686.2228. Their service/parts have said that they can get any TRD parts available to Toyota US and it WILL be covered if installed by them.

Question

What warranty is there to void? I've had lowering springs on my past 2 cars with no issues whatsoever. They don't have the nerve to try and void the powertrain warranty or anything but bumper to bumper on your struts if they were to blow. I wouldn't stress out over it as much as you are.

easy for for u, u have access to TRD parts for your vehicle, warrenty gives me peace of mind, u probably never had any problems with your cars.... some ppl aren't so lucky... i for one always have something going wrong for me on cars... so i rely on warrenty, i'm sorta "lemon" prone
