Gen6 Getting a transmission

Well it finally happened. After 8,000 miles my trans started to flare. Took it to the dealership to get a couple of noises fixed and told them about the trans flaring and they ordered one for me without a test drive even. Best dealership I have ever dealt with. They said if all goes well the trans will be in next week.

It has to be V6 due to a flare.
The I4 has no flare but only hesitation and harsh downshift which have been fixed with the TSB. (at least on my car)

When your tranny shifts from 3-4 your RPM will flare or jump about 500 RPM before going into 4th gear.

I wonder how Toyota is replacing these transmissions... Are they replacing these with a brand new transmission or I they taking the transmissions that have the issue, rebuilding them and then installing them back into another car. I wouldn't want someone else's transmission, even if it was rebuilt to correct the flare problem. Who knows how the other car was driven. That rebuilt tranny might have other problems down the road. Just a thought.

The tsb covers up to a point in October for the vin numbers but the problems seem to persist even with newer cars. It can occur anytime but most commonly after about 1500 miles. Haven't heard of anyone with 10k miles on their car who hasn't had the problem. Replacement transmissions apparently just as prone to have the problem as the originals. Problem isn't fixed yet. Seems to be a design flaw or computer glitch. Happens to transmissions built at both US and JA plants.
