Hi,
I have an 07 Camry LE and want to put in an aftermarket DVD Navigation system. I'm looking at the Pioneer Avic D3 or the new Kenwood DNX7100. My question is does the stock CD player come out easily or do I have to buy any kit to put in the double din Nav system? I know for my 2006 Tacoma I had to buy a dash kit to fit in a Double Din Nav System. I've tried searching and havn't seen anybody post about this
The aftermarket bezel doesn't line up as well as I would have hoped, especially in the corners. It has a great looking screen with button placement though. Were you able to retain the steering wheel audio control functionality with the Ecliplse unit?

I was not able to retain my steering wheel controls. I looked on Crutchfield for a PAC adapter, but was unable to find one. I'll keep an eye out though, and if I see one, I'll definitely pick one up. Yeah, the bezel is a little more rounded on the corners.
The one I got is the Scosche bezel from Crutchfield... the Metra bezel might fit better.
Overall it looks good, and to someone who didnt intentially look at the defects probably wouldnt notice it. But to someone who drives in it all the time, im sure it will start to become a bit annoying.
With the angle of our windshields, it's possible to mount the antenna inside the car (On the dash board) and be OK. I would recoment using the metal plate the antenna will come with to increase the effectiveness and accuracy of the antenna.
My first thought was to mount the antenna under neath the driver side tweeter grille. After looking at it I thought I would have enough depth to fit it under there.
After popping up the panel and test fitting the antenna, I realized there wasn't enough room. so I just mounted on top of the tweeter grille where the windshield meets the dashboard. Ideally though, outside the car (on the roof), with at least 9 sq inches of metal around the antenna is the best place to mount
i have the 2007 camry se and i installed the pioneer avic-d3 with the scosche dash kit as well as the PAC steering wheel module to retain my steering wheel controls and also i put my gps antenna under my dash right on top of the ventilation tube.. works great and looks great.
Does anyone have any pics of the kenwood dnx 7100 installed in there camry? Was it difficult to install and what did you all need to install this? Thanks
akide,
can you post pics of the Avic D3 on the camry and pics of where you put the antenna ...would love to see it and where did you get the PAC so you can retain the wheel control??
If you do not have the JBL system, yes definitely get the wiring harness. If you have the JBL system, you will have to splice the wires on...
FOr mounting the radio, you can use the stock brackets from the factory radio... after you buy the bezel and the wiring harness, that should be all you need to install.
