Gen5 How to remove stock airbox gen5 4cyl

Is there any way to remove just the stock box?
If so do you gotta take that air duct thin towards the front?

Yea you can take out the stock airbox system and when you do, you no longer need the thin plastic duct that goes to the front. Taking a couple of the tubes out is annoying cuz it snakes through under the battery stuff. But here's a question, you are planning on putting something in the place of the airbox right? Cuz your car won't run unless you have some sort of intake on there
