Gen5 camry wont start

i came out from work tonight to find my camry completely dead....it would not start, but made a clicking noise at first....following that, the lights got dim and all died, and following that, the remote and locks wont even work! we tried jumping it several times, and it does nothing at all.....could this be a dead battery? because the car ran perfect before i got to work at 5.....
its a 2003 camry SE I-4 auto....42k

Sounds like the battery is dead, but I don't understand why it did not start when you tried to jump start the car. You could have a loose battery terminal or connection on the cable too.

Check your wires, make sure you don't have any shredded insulation or anything, otherwise you could be arcing and not getting the proper charge from the battery. Cheapest thing would be a wire or something small like that, so let's hope! I see your from Catonsville. Wherebouts?

If it won't start with a jump, it's most likely a loose battery terminal connection or corroded battery terminal connections not allowing the current to pass through the terminal connections and reach the battery. Check the battery post/terminal connections for cleanliness and tightness.

It may also be the starter's solenoid terminals starting to corrode. If that's the case get a large wrench or a hammer and tap on the solenoid. Give it a good tap, but don't try to break it. Then see if the car starts. If it now starts, you have identified this common problem on Denso (Toyota) starters. It's a bit early for this to start happening, but I do mention it as a possibility. It's more likely the battery post/terminal connections.
