5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hello guys ... I have just traded in my '07 Camry for a new '07 Toyota Aurion! I live in the Middle East and we are lucky enough to get both such good cars. I have purchased my '07 Camry back in Oct-06 when they just released them and people had no idea that we'll get the Aurion. When they launched the Camry the only engine choice was the 4-cylindar. Couple of month later (after my purchase) they released the Aurion in our market with only V6 engine and with a bit more options as they intend the Aurion to be an upper scale vehicle than the Camry. I was impressed about the Camry and I really liked it but I was looking for more power. I have finally pulled the trigger and trade in the Camry for an Aurion and I can't be any happier.
The Aurion had few more options than the Camry such as:
1- Xenon headlights (much better than the Camry's lights)
2- Front and Rear parking sensors.
3- Keyless entry/ignition
4- 6-Disc CD changer.
5- Auto climate.
6- Side and curtain airbags.
7- Power passenger seat.
8- And a very beautiful instrument cluster.
Sorry about the long post but I felt like I should have some explanation since I am not located in the US like most of you guys. Let me know if you guys have any question.
Here's a pic of my old Camry and few other shots of the new ride (sorry for the bad phone pics quality)
Got my Camry for $20,000, trade in value with 6,500 miles is $18,275 and got the Aurion for $24,500.
We import Camry and Aurion from Australia but they screw us and the Aurion comes with Camry dash not Aurion plus some missing options such as bluetooth and JBL sound system.
wow! that aurion is hella nice! if im not mistaken they call that "camry" in ASIA.
Not in all places. In Hong Kong, the Camry is the same as the one we have in North America. They get both the 2AZ-FE and the 2GR-FE however there are far fewer trims and they are a bit more upscale there. For example it looks like they have the equivalent of LE I4 and XLE I4 and XLE V6. But all of them are equipped with auto-leveling HID, retracting mirrors and such.
Keep in mind that you might be paying US$40,000 to $50,000 or more for a Camry in Hong Kong.
