The dealer CAN, I repeat again, CAN cover those parts under the warranty period.

That's a fact. Period.

I've done it numerous times and have never been charged back by Toyota.

FACT.

Why are his pads worn out so early? Sticking caliper slides? If so the pads ARE covered.

That's what I ACTUALLY know.

is it still considered a ripoff if its consentual?

I was also at 27k mileage and do a lot of heavy stop/go, hard braking...
I bought my 2007 camry ce in september 2006.

This weekend I had to get new brake pads and new rotors. Apparantly my rotors had gotten warped as well, unable to be turned. I still need to pickup the car today or tomorrow. The rotors had to be ordered. This was saturday, so they gave me a rental car that I have been putt putting around the past couple of days.

I'm going to have to dig through some boxes (after just having moved... argh!), but I wonder what my pad measurements were when I had my 15k service done. They told me the read pads had worn down evenly and all checks/settings were up to specs. They were obviously getting low, because I heard the warning sounds (or maybe a little too late).

I drive over 100 miles a day on freeways and rush hour traffic. With our horrible freeway conditions plus my music, I didn't hear the first signs of it.

Also on a side note... my buddy has an acura tsx and also had his rear brakes changed recently when he hit about 30k (he's had the car for 30 years)... he was also suprised that his rears went out first.

Is this some scam that all makes and dealers are doing? I don't know what to say when I can see the pads are obviously worn down evenly to 2mm evenly and the rotors aren't true anymore...
