so i have a 2007 toyota camry and on my way home from work at about 10,987 miles on the car it strted leaking fluid i could smeel it burning and i had it towed to my dealer they say the trans blew and is not covered by warenty becasue theres rubber under the car showing signs of racing not ot mention who races a 4 cylinder? and they want 6,000 grand ot fix it what do i do?
Have you been racing it? Plus driving with the pedal to the floor would not void warranty. Call Toyota Corporate and file a claim.

He means from the tires spinning during a burnout causing rubber to stick in the wheel wells and under the rocker

They will contact the dealer, Further investigate what caused the failure, Unless they can PROVE your heavy foot caused the failure, They HAVE to warranty it.

thats the biggest pile of stinky shit i've ever heard. you can get rubber underneath just from your tires running fast, hard turns and such, especially when they're warmed up or the road's hot. thats dumb. nascar drivers get rubber too, and they just make left turns all day.
Wow, why are dealerships such bullshitters. Too bad they couldn't think up a better excuse to refuse your warranty. How can rubber under the car mean there's signs of racing. Racing cars have rubber under their cars, yes maybe, but so do a lot of other cars that DONT RACE AT ALL. Definitely talk to toyota corporate.
I drive my transmission pretty hard and I haven't had a problem yet (knock on wood). I've got a 4cyl automatic and there's about 24000 kilometers of hard driving on my transmission. I don't race my car (not yet) but since it's only a 4cyl so I usually floor it from stops to get the acceleration I want. I downshift through all the gears from high speeds and the engine's usually 3/4 to redline or more. I thought that since the engine's not not gonna break my tranny since it's not a v6, it's not tubo'd, it's completely stock! Now after I've seen this posting I'm a little worried about how far this tranny will take me. I should really start to take it easy on the car but it's really not my driving style. Oh well. Anyway, I hope toyota takes care of you man. I don't see how they could prove you were racing apart from them coming up with your license plate # that was registered in a race somewhere.

A Camry tranny (with the exception of the problematic V6s ) should take you to the end of the world and back. I don't think racing your car will fuck the transmission up, especially so early. The car is supposed to be able to take some abuse. You should be able to get that fixed because that doesn't make any sense.

Always got something else in mind...
is there anything your not telling us ? but if it was normal driving its really odd seeing a tranny go at 11k...maybe you just got a defected one n:
That's what I'm saying. I had a 1993 accord 4banger that I sold that went well over 160,000 of very hard-driving. (riced it out in my younger days and thought i was jeff gordon lol). Last I checked, the new owner is running it hard at 185,000 miles with tranny problems just starting to arise. Unless this guy juiced it up with some custom turbocharger and some nitro....
That transmission should be able to handle anything the engine sends its way. Was he trying to pull an Air Stream or something? It's a 4I after all. That engine doesn't have enough guts to spin the wheels unless you took the time to grease them. Toyota owes him a new transmission.
