I am so excited cuz I finally got rid of my 90 V6 LE Camry that was rusting to death and killing me on gas, so I got an '07 4cyclinder LE. It was not brand new it was a demo model for the dealer and has 11,000 mi on it. I really like it and hope it holds up well.
I asked them about the transmission problems on the V6 and they said no one had any problems with the transmission at their dealership and that the only thing with the transmission was that some software needed to be uprgaded or something.
I paid 19,500 (including tax, title and all that other crap) the asking price was 20,500. The color is sky blue (I don't remember the true color name). I did get the extened warranty it wasn't for free, I think they lowered my interest rate since I got the warranty and it made the payments go up 4 bucks. They also gave me their 2 year serivce pack which includes free oil changes and 2 free car washes per month.

Sorry to say this, but I had a very bad experience of buying demo cars from dealer. You saved thousands off MSRP but you never know how people treat it when it was still in the break-in period. Besides, those sales always took it as free ride whenever they need a car to somewhere. I was almost under arrest by Canadian custom police when I entered Canada border line because they detected the residue of marijuana all over my 01 Honda Accord. They almost tear the whole interior down. We were questioned by the police for almost 3 hours in police station. I should've sued my Honda dealers but it was 2 years after I purchased my car.
However, I didn't learn from it and made the same mistake again. I traded in my 01 Honda Accord I4 to 05 Honda Accord EX-L V6 at the same dealer becasue I wanted to save thousands again (it did not save much after all, only $3000 off MSRP). I got another demo with 7K miles on it. The second day I found out the transmission was rough shift between 1st and 2nd gear, and I compliant to the dealer they refused to fixed it said it was normal. It ended up with losing thousand to trade in it for a brand new 07 Camry after 6 months of ownership. 07 Camry also gave me some small issues and of couse the infamous 3rd to 4th gears shift flares.
Things I've learned now - never buy any demo car again, never buy the first year production buggy car, and never traded in your new car without fighting for it. But when the new model came out, I just can't resist not to buy it. Be a smart and patient buyer, and this forum really gave me all kinds of information.

I'm sorry you had that experience but my grandpa bought a demo 99 Mercury Grand Marquie and experience no problems with it and on the thing about not buying the first model year my mom's '04 Sienna hasn't had any problems, however we did have monumental problems with our 95 Ford Windstar, but with toyota's reputation and the fact that in my family we have owned several toyotas ( 70 somehting corolla, 92 celica, 04 Sienna, 97 ES 300, 88, 90, 00 and now '07 camry ) that the '07 will be just as good as the others.

I think it may be just my bad luck with demo cars, but two cars in a row scared me off.
This is my first Toyota, overally it does what it is supposed to(a daily commute car), quiet and comfortable, powerful V6 engine but lack of some passion. The dealer fixed most of small issues, and tranny shift flares does not bother me too much.
BTW, Congratulations to your new Camry. Best luck with you and enjoy your new car.

I had the v6 in the 90 and it was killing me on gas, and I know the '07 gets better milage but I just wanted to get the best milage as possible especially since gas is now over 3 bucks
Lets not go telling him what he should have done, since I know I would hate it if people started saying " you should have gotten this or that" when I first got my car.
