I've had the Lo Jack installed in my old corolla and Scion tC. I know it works and is well worth it. My corolla got stolen back in 2001. A police crusier picked up the signal from the lojack about 4 hours after it was stolen. When backup showed up from the town the car was in, they apprehended 2 guys who were in the car. When asked if they knew the car was stolen, they said they had no clue, while they held my radio in their hands. Both arrrested and taken in. Found out each guy had 6 warrants for their arrest in different towns. They stripped the car but nothing was found except the radio. They even stole my neons..lol. It didn't bother me, insurance paid for EVERYTHING, except my cd's.
Having lojack also gets you a discount with the insurance company. But all newer cars have the chip in the key and pretty much the only way to steal the car is to put it on a tow truck/flatbed and take off with it. And from my understanding the Camry has a chip in the key so its not really worth it. A simple alarm will do the trick. If the camry didn't have the chip, then I'd say go for it! But you gotta remember that if they steal it and damage the car like they did to my rolla, it'll never feel the same again. When i got it back I felt violated and didn't want the car anymore. But I had to drive it cause money was tight back then.
Does anybody have Lo Jack installed on their vehicles? Just found out Camry is the No. 1 stolen vehicle in America. Makes you wonder eh?
Those are old Camrys. Because most old cars are stolen for parts. New cars have new parts that can not be used on old cars. And it is very difficult to resell a car because of VIN.

i dont have lojack on my camry. i was going to get it but when they calculated how much will the monthly cost be i backed out coz it was like $50++ more. so instead i had them install a car alarm. Karr alarm. on the other hand our Corolla has Lojack for some reason. hehe
I have LoJack Early Warning installed on my '07 SE V6. If whoever is driving/stealing my car doesn't have the key fob that I have on my keychain then I automatically get a phone call, text message and e-mail notifying me that my car has been moved.

Now, this is well worth every penny. I think this is the best system out there. the best way to save your investment, and your best friend.

FYI: the camry u speak of on that list is an 89 model year, MUCH easier to steal... most cars built post milenium do have lazer keys, except lowerend/base models. But I agree Lojack is an excellent system to have, got one on my 04'accord, but its much more desireable a model than my camry, but u typicaly pay newhere from$1000-2000 installed for one. I do like that the newer units are so small they are hard to find, the older lojack modules where rather large which limited where u could hide one.
