I've done over 650 kilometers mostly crusing at 120km/h on the highway. I used the A/C from time to time.
And I could have gone further. I just don't like running below 1/4 tank when I'm out of town.
If I'm in the city, I run my Camry well past the orange gas light shining.

With a gas station on every corner, if the car dies, I can easily start pushing down the street.
Most people in North America would be somewhat embarassed to push a car, but in Europe it's perfectly normal. And if you see someone pushing a car, and you're a man, then it's almost your civic duty to aid the man.
