Gen6 Q for those that had thier SE Front Lip Spoiler off

To make a long story short... I pulled into an angle parking spot with a high curb, ended up crunching the front right of the lip spoiler.

Some scratches on the lower part of the lip, I think with a little touch up paint it will be fine. You really have to get down to see it. I'm sure it's not the last time it will get a few scraps etc.

Anyhow, the question for those that had the front lip spoiler off the car. It seems like I've broken at least the outter most right clip at min. (can see the rectangle slotted hole in the bumper) and maybe one more inward. I had to push the spoiler back to seat it against the bumper. Right now it's flush with the bumper and you can't notice anything, but if I was to pull on the lower right part of the lip, it would separate from the bumper and expose the slot.

Are these clips that hold the spoiler to the bumper? If so, are they easy to replace and fix? Part #? And or is this a job for the dealer?

Thanks in advance.

I had three of them break during the ice storm we had this winter... I'm referring to the slab that goes into the rectangular slotted holes... (slab goes in, and a blue clip slides in to hold the lip) if that broke off, then you need to find that broken slab... I was lucky enough to have one of them stay in the fenderwell and I just JB welded it back on. If you don't have it... then ur SOL... i guess u can use a piece of plastic that fits in the slotted holes and weld that on

if you used double sided tape without using the tabs, would the front lip stay on?

Thanks for the reply Peter. It's dark now so it's hard to tell if the slab or rectangler piece that protrudes through the slot is broken off. Earlier when I checked, it looked like it was flush when I gently pulled back the spoiler to take a peek. I reached my hand up from underneath and felt as much as I could for anything... but since there's shrouds etc. it's hard to find if there's a broken off slab piece.

It's not that bad... at most if you gently pull on the edge that wraps into the wheel well, it will separate 4-5mm at the widest point from the bumper cover. The lip spoiler remains flush a few inches before the curve. So I'm guessing I may have broken off that clip as well.

I think that would work.....was thinkin about that too.... Didn't someone here install the RK Sport kit with only double sided sticky tape?

I guess I got a few options... tomorrow after I clean up the car and touch up paint it:

1. use a little double side sticky tape vertically where the lip spoiler wraps into the wheel well. this will prob. anchor it so if you where to pull on it it won't separate.

little to no cost

2. get them to re-re the bumper and just fix the mounting points and clips as netenforcer mentioned

prob. 150-200 bucks

or

3. if i'm not satisfied with the touch up painting it, get them to re-re the lip spoiler, fix the clips and repair the scratches/re-paint.

prob. 300-400 bucks I bet

you can only tell there's scratches because of the missing paint and black plastic showing.

so hopefully number one will do....... little bit p-offed but but what can you do!
