5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
many factors... poor shifting done by the other drivers, you can hear a lot of wheel spin, why? because its not a real track... looks like regular street asphalt
the mustang and M3 drivers couldn't shift or drive for shit. no way they could've lost, even with an average level driver. the camry was probably an automatic V6 = more consistent times.

Not true I beat 2 mustang GTs, 1 auto and 1 stick. Its about the hole shot and people in mustangs like to spin the wheels at launch.
Like akira751 said... it's the holeshot and as well as Netforcer mentioned the driver, track prep. etc.
The proof is in the timeslip... I bet the Stang and the M3 have more MPH at the end. But the reaction time is prob. like:
Camry (.500 tree)
.500-.520
M3/Stang
1.0+
For those that don't drag race, that means the Camry had a .5 second head start.
.5 second behind leaving, poor shifting and blowing the tires off (poor 60 ft) add probably at least a second to their times. so the stang and the m3 are now 14.5-14.8 seconds in the 1/4 cars.
probably not boosted.... if you pause the picture when the camry goes by, it's running XLE rims and street tires. so, front wheel drive + boosted + street tires + poor track = prob. slower than a stock camry as you'll be pedalling the whole race.
Ford Mustang is a piece of shit. Camrys rule, esp V6. My friend has a V6 Stang, this piece of crap has less than 20k and its already eaten two batteries and an alternator. I keep telling her to get a used cam or at least extended warranty, but she just won't listen. I don't care what aftermarket junk you hang on it, Camry rules. If you need speed and have the bank you wouldn't be reading this - also you'd consider neither car.
My V6 kicks ass on anyone on the stupid Calif freeways who wants to play a game; in the rare window when it is wide open ( i go to work at 5 am)...i mash the pedal and i'm outa there.
