thinking of adding a rear view camera

I am thinking of adding a rear view camera on my 2002 Toyota Camry LE. I just wondering which one do you recommend me to get that is not too expensive. I am going to have a professional install it for me. I also wondering where do you think I should place the monitor at? Right now, I have my XM Radio Audiovox Xpress install on the center on the bottom where the cigerrate lighter is at so that's out of question. If you need pictures, than let me know.

sheesh! I post two questions so far and no one answers it yet. One about a car cover and one about the rear camera.

I noticed in another post, the guy is getting lots and lots of replies about a camera on back of his truck.

Gee... what's going on??

I belong to another Toyota foums and I already got replies already and that place is not that active at all.

Maybe this forum is not for me...

Theres a member here who has an Eclipse DVD nav system, and a rear-view camera. The camera is mounted above the license plate, and the screen automatically shows whats behind you when its put in reverse.

walmart has a back up camera for around 100 bucks.. you basically wire it up to the reverse light and an rf signal is accepted by a monitor, one of the fj cruiser forum members wired it.. check it out. i think its called VR3.

Is that me you're talking about?

Without having a head unit with a screen capable of a rear view camera, it'll be tough to mount a monitor anywhere that's inconspicuious. Do you have a picture of your interior? maybe we could give you some ideas if we see where everything else is currently mounted.

Not sure if it's really that important on a car as to a minivan or big SUV.

Btw, where did you buy yours at?

I got a Boyo VTL300 for about $150 bucks on ebay it's a license plate mounted camera which is adjustable up and down and is very heavy duty/sturdy.

The camera is very good and very clear I have it hooked up with my Pioneer AVIC-D3 navigation server.

Thanks for the replies!

Wow! That DVD System with the camera looks really cool but expensive!

I think I will just take dirtdiggler suggestion and get it at Walmart.
