Has anyone ever used these? There listed as 55watt bulbs so they should be ok. I know HID's are the way to go but after already being busted for having them on my Gen5 I dont feel like dealing with the cops in my town again.

$63 for just bulb replacements? I bought Nokya H11 bulbs for $20 and they say they have the effect as a 100W bulb. For twice the price of those you could get a cheap HID kit, I would not buy those. They wont even be much whiter then stock bulbs since they are only 4000K.
They are nice and white... nice to look at by others, but not for the driver.
Though they are whiter then stock, but does not produce more light.
They are not good for night driving.

And have you seen what Nokya's do to a wiring harness? Take a picture of your harness now, and then take a look at in 3 months when your replacing the bulbs (the usual lifespan of Nokya's) Your going to notice that the plugs have changed colors due to running 100w bulbs where stocks are 55w.

The bulbs that geoff5093 mentioned are actually the same type as the one you listed.
Both are 55w but looks like 100/110w.
PIAA are more expensive because of the name, other than that, they are pretty much the same stuff.

The lights I have now look good if your looking at the car, but since they are 7000K they dont produce much light. Im going to be buying an HID conversion kit as soon as I find a good kit.
And if you dont want to go with another HID kit, you should look at the SilverStar Ultra's, which are cheaper (around $40 on eBay or so).

You just answered the question i was going to ask.. what would be a good replacement bulb? i had the SilverStar in my convertible, and liked them..at the time they didn't have the Ultra's..are they any better?
I had the PIAA Xtreme White Plus on my old Toyota Echo. Those bulbs are actually rated at something like 4000K, and they provided a visible increase in light over the stock bulbs.
PIAA bulbs in general are over-priced, but these exact ones actually put out useful light output.
But the true upgrade lies in a HID kit or retrofit.

I have used the PIAA, they are very nice and last a long time. I had them in my old Gen 3 for about 3 years before I sold it. They were better than stock and you pay extra money because the PIAA bulb will last much longer than the others.

If you do get them, let us all know how they work and if they are brighter.
^I bought it for my gen 5 before i did my retro...and that had to best bulb i purchased. In all honesty, it was pricey, but i had nokya's and they didn't compare. I know others say that they are just the same, or that piaas don't last. Well I've had piaas in 3 other sets of cars...and they all lasted well over 2 years before i decided to go a retro route. I don't think i have pics of it, but i can say that when i had it, it was a noticeable difference from the stock sylvannis
