Clip Remover (Removing Drivers Door Panel)

(I'm trying to get rid of a mettalic rattle from my driver's side door)

I found the Engine Hood/Door PDF from www.camrymanuals.com.

From ED-15 (PDF Page 18)
Quote:
5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUBASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 3 screws and clip (A).
(b) Using the clip remover, disengage the 9 clips.
I was wondering what I could use instead of the clip remover or where I can find one. I tried doing this a while back but was afraid I would break the clips.
Should I just use force?
And if I were to break a clip would the local auto parts store carry these clips? Or do I have to buy a new door panel to get the clips?

I've used a screwdriver on door clips for 30 years...

i dont like using screw drivers anymore.. you can mess up the plastic if you're not careful

but yeah.. i just took out all three screws (you gotta yank off the silver plastic on the door handle to get to two of them, and then the round plastic piece where the door lever to open the door is) and that one clip where the triangle is and then i stuck my fingers under any part of the panel and yanked it out

careful not to break it though

edit: oh yeah.. roll down your window all the way first.. and then after you take off all the clips, slowly slide the panel up (it hooks on to the top of the door.. and then there are some cables and wires that you disconnect

If you still want to use the Toyota clips.

I saw the clips were available at the Toyota Dealer. The other day while at the Toyota Dealer, I saw the person in front of me was able to score about 10 clips.

Didn't pay attention to the price of those though.

Just thought I'd finish this up for anyone using the search function to find the answer.

I dealt with the 9 trim pieces by sticking a screwdriver (wrapped in black electrical tape) in the opening on the bottom of the panel. Once I loosened that first clip I took out the rest by prying the panel piece (along its perimeter) with my hand. Once you do this look back into the manual for the rest of the steps (www.camrymanuals.com).

Also, I solved the metallic rattle by tighteninga bolt, and a plastic rattle, on the other door, by tightening the screws that hold the power window & lock setup.
