Apparently my rear speaker grill in my Camry dry rotted. I was trying to get a bug out the back of my car and barely touched the grill (honest ). The grill fell in on the part I touched. Every part around the area just crumbled when I touched it. WTF????!!!! How could this happen and is there any place I can just order a replacement?

^Thanks for the link but it does not show an aftermarket grill installed and its a 98 Camry with a different rear deck than a Gen 6.
I just wanted stock speakers. Did not want to waste money on aftermarket when the rear speakers are just used for fill anyway. Also, isn't it going to attract thieves when they see the aftermarket grills plainly visible in the rear window?

wait i was just wondering..since the grill is attached to the Deck. wouldnt you have to get a new deck for just the grill? if the grill was removable it would've made my rear speakr install 10x easier!
^That's exactly what I was thinking. I thought people had to remove the whole deck and a bunch of other stuff to install speakers. I don't know. But it sucks for me for sure.
SE plastic grills?

looking at toyotapartsales.com, i think the grilles are parts of the rear deck. you will have to buy the entire rear deck if you want to replace it i believe... it will cost about $160 or $310 (it shows two prices for some reason).
^Thanks for the helpful link. It would be nice if I could upgrade the rear deck or speaker grills somehow since I need to replace it anyway and make it look factory.
One of the decks is Japanese and the other is US. Don't know if there is really a difference though.

for the money your spending to get 1 grill replaced i thikn you should just do something else...maybe get after market grills and put it there.. or do nothing about it
got any pics ? personally i myself wouldnt spend like 300$ to replace a grill but hats just me
^I haven't had a chance to take pics of it. It's just a little hole maybe a little bigger than a quarter. Yeah, that's a lot of money to replace a stupid factory grill. I don't like holes anywhere in my car though. I will definitely think it over and explore all kinds of other options!

the same thing happened to me. all that crud was so hard to clean off the new speakers that were in there. stupid me for not checking the condition of the grills before i reinstalled the rear deck.
the grills are a part of the deck indeed- as they are riveted. i just tore the things out of there and now i have 4 holes in each side for the grills, and the 2 oval holes for the 6X9s. i'm just planning to go custom on that ish unless i find some aftermarket covers that can actually cover the 4 hole (on each side) on top of covering the speaker itself.
^I'm thinking of getting a Camry logo or something to put on the grill hole. If I'm not careful, I might make it worse.

yep same problem for me (2003 LE). Touched one speaker lightly and it crumbled. The other one is cracking on its own and is about to fall in. great....
