I gave in.....took the side mouldings off

Couldn't fight it any longer...
The Camry looks much nicer without the side mouldings IMO.

I negotiated with the dealer over the moldings when I bought the Camry.
I was scared to death not having the protection against door dings but the look without the molding is so smooth and modern.
I've always watched where I park with the moldings anyway.

Hi Joe B,
I know how you feel since we actually also wanted to put on the side mouldings. Bought the car but had to order the SM seperately since none came that way. SM arrived in a box and we decided to come back later and have the dealer install them. Well, 6 months later the SM are still sitting in the box in the garage! We decided that the car looks cleaner without them. The older SM did not stick out as much-were more of the flush version. It actually could clash with the newly creased body redesign. But when it comes time to sell ,the prospective owner might still appreciate having the option of putting them on. And yes, we walk extra miles to park in safe areas.

instead of body side moldings, they should invent a device where if you swing open a car door into the body of another car, you get a little electrical zap, nothing too major, but maybe like 5 or 10 jules as to discourage people from being so careless :-P

ok well this is an extreme but this def sucks since I'm guessing it was done without reason
find out more about your insurance company what they cover etc...usually if you have a swear scrached into your car they will pay for a new paint job since you can't drive around like that
i'm not suggesting anything but whats unfair is unfair, plus it's really hard to put a key to your own car haha i dont think i'd ever do it but then again no one keyed my car, they better hope i never find out who it was heh
