Cabin filter used up/gone after 8K miles-better check yours!
Decided to have the cabin filter changed since my allergies were really acting up lately. Actually dropping the glove box was very simple and took 10 seconds. Really watched my tech since I am planning to do it myself from now on. Just unhook the damper on the right side, then squeeze in the sides of the open glove box. It released quickly and dropped forewards. The filter was easily pulled out from its slot. It was totally black, lots of small particles in the pleats and clearly not allowing enough air to get through anymore. And this was after only 6 months/8K miles of driving in normal air. Glad I changed mine and good to know that they are only effective for a short time, maybe 7500 miles max. Unfortunately was forced to get it from the dealer since there are no aftermarket brands yet for the 2007. Also looked at the airfilter and that one was only slightly soiled/coated, definitely good till 15K.
