5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It's obvious that most of the sales are the I4, since the majority of people getting them are parents for a family car, who dont need or care about the power of the V6. They just want the cheapest they can get.

Yea, whats up with that. Did you install the second one install or did it come that way?
My dealer had said that the number of V6 Camry's sold is in the 30 - 40% range. This seems very high to me, but I don't know for sure. I'm going by the ratio of 4's to 6's seen on dealers lots and that is more like 10% 6's. Are the sales numbers from Toyota available anywhere?
Who knows, ask toyota or google it? I see about 80 to 90% 4 cylinders on the road here in LA/OC area. Personally i spent lots of time looking for my 2002 V6 and paid extra for it. People not knowing or caring about the extra power and worried about decent mpg (i get 26-27 even in miserable So cal traffic) are not going to do any of that even if they are buying new.
I don't think there are that many V6 and or SE V6's out there cause I get a lot of admiring glances and defensive responses by I4 drivers in all models.
