5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
havn't used them but weird since it drops the front more than the rear..as the rear needs more drop I think to make the car look more even...at least thats what I liked with trd =/
plus you can get trd's 230 online and install them yourself free basically, I went to autozone got the compressor, and then advanced autoparts for a nice torque wrench and sockets, returned almost everything after I finished and got all my money back (kept the long torque wrench I liked it and think it'll be useful hehe now just get a huge socket set for $20 on ebay and i'll be good) lol
either way a local shop can install them cheap for 100-200, if you're looking for dealership work then they'll take at least 600 just for the work =/ I went around a couple to check it out, just some advice otherwise I'm not much help I guess I just love the TRD's i just installed a couple days ago heh
Whiteboy, I'm not sure if you know or not, but does the warranty change at all if you have a private mechanic install them vs a Toyota dealer?
The reason I ask is because I have a set of TRD springs that I just got today, but I dont know where I should have them installed at. The private mechanic that charges $50 an hour, the Toyota which charges $85 an hour or so.
Hey, Intrax Springs is in San Diego. I will stop by their shop tomorrow.
Has anyone use them before? How do they rate campare to TRD, HR, Tein...?
I hope they have springs for 2007.

Everyone I know that had a gen3/4 that had intrax springs had no complaints, so I would imagine they're good springs with a decent ride. As for the offset of the drop, the front is dropped lower then the rear so that the car "looks" better. The front wheel well lip is actually about an inch higher then the rear. Even drops make the car look odd in the front. On top of that, if the spring settles too much, usually the back will drop a little lower then the front giving you even less of a front drop. (ksport drop springs) Also, DO NOT have a private mechanic install the springs on the car. I don't know about where you are, but over here, andyone that does work on the car other then Toyota techs will void your warranty. PERIOD. I'd also suggest talking to a Toyota rep about the springs. When I went to source a supercharged Scion TC, they told me the TRD supercharger being installed would void my warranty, regardless of who installs it. Hence the reason why I don't have one yet......................

Thanks for the info. That's good to know. I just did a little research...Intrax Supspension Springs Company is in Irvine, CA. The place in San Diego is an authorize dealer/store called New Level Motorsports. I will check them out..

Thanks for the input guys..Lammy can you let me know what you personally think of them when you talk to the dealer please? I have no warrenty to void on my car so no worries about that lol.
I'm just looking at all my options, i just don't want to drop it too low.

Thanks, I will talk to my Toyota techs. Also, I agree with you about the front needs to drop lower than the rear because as of now my car with stock spring the front is way to high thus this spring will even it out. And it is the real reason I don't want to go with TRD springs because it will make my rear even lower after dropped. Again, thanks for the info.

well I read a bunch on this forum about it and what I got from most people is that toyota gave tem crap because of the springs but since it's a product that they would install them selves and you don't mess something up during the install which would give you some serious failures they can't void the warranty and there were a couple cases where the people argued and they got their way because it's esentially true even though it's after market it's technically approved by them...
that's why I got TRD's myself besides the height because I didn't want any problems with toyota incase something goes bad, but when I went to the dealership I def. wasn't paying 731 and 20 cents for install lol

o about the install 50/hour doesnt sound bad if they know what they're doing ask for a set price if you cna or bargain with them if it's a local shop you can probably get anestimate of what it will be but I can garantee it will be 125-200 range usually some guys do 50 a corner but because of this price I just did it myself since it's not hard just a little time consuming but makes for a nice project
btw about the ride drop, not sure what gen6 is height wise I considered my own gen5.5 which is way the hell up there in the air in the back so the even looks damn good for me without the bouncyness and I like the even ride with mine not sure how it would affect the gen6 one the designs are much diff and obtuse if you will
