fuse question gen 5.5

ok...don't hate me but I got the stainless steal light up door sills from ebay...well at least I can say they fit unlike so many other things there from singapore heh the technical part and wiring isn't the best but one thing at a time...

anyways so my idea is to wire them so they light upwhen the door is open, as can the dome light, and how you get the indicator on your instrument panel that the dorr is open, i've been looking through fuses but can't find one that would do this thought Door No. 2 but no clue what half of them are even for... is there anyone that would fit this criteria that current is only passed through when one of the doors is open? I don't particularly like the idea of splicing some wires comming from each door to the car :-s especially since it will probably meen exposing most of them to find one that has voltage with dorr open and none without the door open...
so any ideas or if anyone know this let me know, and alternative ideas welcome also atm I just have it wired to the ignition comming down from the stereo but I have a feeling that the lights won't last through all the time that's the car on and in the day time it's kind of a waste either way
anyways let me know...thx

You're right. this is a pretty simple problem, so since you don't know the answer you might want to get some local assistance to do the work. If you want to have it come on when you open the door then you want to tie in to the switch on the B pillar that actuates the interior lights. Pretty easy to do, but if you attach something at the wrong place you could create a short and ultimately burn the car to the ground, so be careful and get some help.

well I don't know the answer so I ask here :-P
so once again is there a fuse for this or anything close, or does anyone know the wire specifications or have any similar alternative ideas for me
thanks for the help guys

telling me I don't know something and to get some help doesn't really do anything sry to say, knowing me I'll probably try something first and you can't really cause a short by just checking it with a voltage meter ... anyways...
