I just noticed a couple days ago my driver's side door seems to be about a quarter of an inch lower than the rear door where they meet above the handle area..
The passenger side door matches up perfectly with the back door.
Could have been like that from the start but I just noticed the small difference.
Maybe it's because that door is used more.
Anybody have the same issue?

Called my buddy who is a manager of a bodyshop I use and was told he thinks that to adjust the door you have to remove the front fender to get to shim the door hinges or something.
I sure don't want Toyota doing that!
I just may live with it or have him do the adjustment.
Just another joy of an American built Toyota.
yes, I was jocking..
Remove the fender to adjust door????? It has to be another way (I think)..
Tell the dealer to adjust it...
If I decide to do anything,I'll use my body guy.
Last thing I want is the dealer doing body type work.
The fender off to adjust is possibility according to him.
He wasn't sure.
Something about getting to the hinges to make the adjustment.
He's a good friend who I know isn't pulling my middle leg.
He won't even charge me but I'll throw him or his kids something.
Mine is exactly the same, although I think it's less then 1/1 of an inch. I know when I look in my driver side mirror, I can see that the chrome trim and curves dont line up exactly. It's not that way on the passenger door though.

You have the issue,too.
Yeah it's about a quater inch but is noticeable and the passengerside door is perfect.
I gues because it's opened much less..
Anyone else?

Pretty common early on... My SE driver's door was low too. The ES350 guys were the most vocal about it, nobody here seemed to notice. In my case it was very noticable to me because I could see the moulding didn't line up looking down the side through the mirror...
I never had it fixed, but the top window frame was up as tight as it could be to the roof, this led me to believe either...
1. The car was bent
2. The driver's door was built wrong, the window frame was assembled too high on the driver's door.
I wanted to but never did get some measurements, cause I think #2 is more likely the case.

I have a 6/06 build.
Seems to be a pretty common issue if it's both here and on the Lexus forum.
I'll check and see with my buddy is it's an easy adjustment or not.
Good point on the tightness to the roof.
Could be another issue if adjusted correctly.
geoff5093 just got his '07 and has the issue so it may be a factory defect versus door sag.
Just doesn't make sense as the passengerside door is perfectly aligned.

Yup, it's not sag, can't be... Mine was an 09/06 build and it "sagged" the day I brought it home.
Seriously, there looks to be no room at the top of the door to even make it straight... that's why I'm thinking the jig used to make the driver's doors is wrong casing the upper window frame to be installed too high on the door... To fix it right it looks like the window frame needs to be cut off then shaved 1/8-1/4 then reinstalled so that the door can be adjusted up... It's really weird that's for sure, just look at all the other tolerances around the door, if you adjust it in any other direction those will be off.

Thanks for the info.
I think I'll just have to live with it.
Must be a lot of '07's out there with this issue.
I was just thinking...I wonder if that trim can be raised that 1/8-1/4 inch toward the end to make up the difference?
Like maybe tapped up a bit?
Shit that's not looking good. The problem is that the door alignment (as well as hood/trunk) is such a sensitive thing that after something happens, it might not be the same again.
The door defintely looks different.
