hey guys...im trading in my 02 4cyl LE in a few days and leasing an 07 SE 4cyl. Quick question about the new car..... I saw how bright the dash lights are and i was wondering if they are dimmable, like my 02 is. im assuming they are, but wanted to be sure..... thanks!
When you have the lights on or on auto mode, then the dash will dim when it gets dark, and the brighten back up when it gets bright. Like when going under a bridge for instance.
thats a pretty cool feature. i was just hopin if i have the car parked, with the headlights completely off, will the whole interior be lit up from the bright dash lights? I passed someone on the road w an 07 the other day and his whole face was lit up..soemthing i definitely dont want to deal with!

When the lights are off, the dash is pretty bright, but it hasnt annoyed me.
And as IPDaily said, why are you getting another I4? For the difference you're paying in price, your only getting an updated look really. Performance will be the same.
ahh that sucks. i was hoping they wouldnt be tooo bight with the lights out. oh well. and as far as getting another 4 cylinder...this is my daily driver so i dont need the power of the 6. i drive this when i need the power...

With the lights out (daylight driving conditions) the instrument gauges are still dimmable. Just adjust the brightness according to your personal preferences. On our Camry Hybrid, I believe you can even turn them off although they go totally black.
No need to get the V6. I'm sure the I4 will offer you sufficient power and give you a slight edge in economy although the delta between 4 and 6 cylinder Camrys has narrowed in recent years. The V6 should be a bit quieter and smoother.

they why not just keep your 02? personally i think it's a waste of money to trade in one 4 for another....

so if i traded the 02 for an 07 BUT it was a v6, thasts not a waste of money? are u kidding me?
Before u jump to conlusions..im trading it in for a new one because:
my 02 has 87K on it
already had to replace the tranny 5K ago, not covered by toyota at ALL.
front hubs are warped-need replacement, need to change the struts up front, and realign the car
check engine is on for "catalytic efficiency"
car consumes oil...and lots of it
so i should come out of pocket and fix all that shit instead of trading it in for a brand new warrantied car?

sounds like we're talkin like $1000 to fix the car vs. $20,000+ for a new car... seems pretty obvious to me...

1000 dollars? LMAO go price the HUB ASSEMBLIES ALONE. without installation. I guarantee there is NO WAY to fix all the problems with my car for less than 3 grand. and even if i fixed it..im stuck w a 90K mile car out of warranty, as my daily driver.
