5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
We just recieved our new Camry......on 05-31-07..... The car is fully loaded exceot VDC and the Homelink......I payed $31,200 out the door with the 7year 100,000 mile platinum warranty with the zero deductable......and the factory alarm and remote start......
let me know what you guys think plz......if I got ripp or got a good deal.....
btw, can you keep us updated on the transmission of your new v6 vehicle. there has been much talk regarding hesitation and flaring issues with the v6 transmission. i am not sure if you are aware of this. but a new TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) recently offered, addressed the issue, yet we are uncertain whether the problem is truly fixed. since you have a newer v production of the camry, could you please keep us informed of the transmission; i.e. spikes or flares during driving in cold or warm conditions. they typically occur at rpm ranges from 1-2k or 3-4k. thanks.
one last comment, you may not see the transmission issues until you put more milege on the vehicle. i have seen some people say 500 and some say 1500, so it depends. thanks.
I just built the car and it reads $31,499 msrp so I think $31,703.90 with the 7year 100k mile warranty is good out the door.....
Congrats on the new ride... regardless what you paid you'll enjoy it!
Build it on carsdirect.com there usually approx. 1200 or so over invoice. Some lucky members here have gotten their cars at or below invoice.
If you paid 1200+ of your extended warranty, you can cancel it (I did - they'll refund your $$) and re-buy it back from Troy at Greenfield Toyota. (Do a Search for him) He sells the 7/100 warranty for $880.
Well, he got a SE and I know those are hard to come by. They don't make too many SE models.
I have an SE V6 w/NAV, XM, Remote Start and every other available option. <$31k OTD (no extended warranty which can be had for <$900. Of course, you can't compare OTD numbers from different states. What was the number before TTL?
Mine was $28k before TTL ($600 over invoice, and bought it in March 2006 when they were rarely discounted).

BTW I think many people on here are pushing the numbers a bit, when it comes to purchase prices. I highly doubt Toyota dealerships sell every Camry for below dealer cost.
