Please don't get me wrong. I'm frugal. Not cheap, frugal. There's a difference. If I was buying a new master cylinder for a 1959 Beetle, I'd expect to pay premium prices for it. But like 38 dollars for a current year filter that gets tossed in a few months? Get real! I'd at least like to look at it and see 38 dollars worth of material and workmanship in it. Frankly I see about 7 dollars there. It doesn't even have a frame. That would be a more reasonable price. (actually found a no-name filter available on the net for 14.82 and if I buy several the shipping is free.) Might just buy a few. It's not like it's a HEPA filter or something, right? And it isn't protecting the cylinders of the engine. My last Camry didn't even have a filter and somehow I managed not to suffocate. You laugh about this and I roll on the floor over guys questions relating to turbo chargers for I4 engines, 20 inch wheels, and how to replace stock headlights. Spend thousands on pure crap. Yep, must be the same folks who change their synthetic oil every 2500 miles, insist on premium gas, and buy little logo plates to add to the grille and trunk lid to make the car go faster.
